In infrared photography, digital cameras can have their factory sensors swapped for one that is sensitive to infrared light. Black and white images produce a dreamlike or sometimes lurid appearance mainly caused by foliage strongly reflecting in the same way visible light is reflected by snow. There is also a contribution from chlorophyll fluorescence in the glow of plants!
